3LTechnology: Laser Like Light: The bandwidth within the green spectrum which is used in the SmartLight system is this narrow that it comes as close to laser as you can get.Thanks to this narrow bandwith all of the energy produced by the system is used  to get the best bleaching effect as possible without any heat deposition.

Photodynamic Teeth Whitening:
The wavelength of the SmartLight 3LT system (around 530 nm) is one of the few wavelengths capable of Photobleaching. The 3LT light penetrates into the tooth where it breaks down large color-molecules present within the top third of the dentine (reference to Photobleaching feasability study).

Alkaline pH of the Smartbleach gel:
Influenced by the SmartLight 3LT the pH of the specifically developed Smartbleach gel becomes alkaline. In an alkaline hydrogenperoxide gel the percentage of perhydroxyl radicals is much higher than the percentage of oxygen radicals. In the context of bleaching, perhydroxyl radicals are 50% more active than oxygen radicals. Consequently, the effect of bleaching using an alkaline gel is greater than with other systems.

Photochemical Technique:
The technique using 3LTechnology to activate the Smartbleach gel induces a higher production of free radicals than does the standard thermal activation of hydrogen peroxide. As a result there is no heat build-up in the pulp tissue and the Smartbleach gel retains its elevated temperature for a longer period of time while also releasing a greater number of active radicals.

 

Specially developed biteblock

Thanks to the specially developed biteblock with integrated suction the patient can relax during the treatment. It's integrated suction and adaptable positioning for the attachment to the illuminator makes it a very user and patient friendly system.

In-mouth Illuminator

The Illuminator of the SmartLight 3LT system contrary to other systems delivers the light to the teeth from a minimal distance. As the intensity of the light diminishes gradually with the distance to the teeth, this is extremely important in order to be able to whiten the teeth equally up to the first molar.

The Smartbleach system is safe and efficient.

The connection between the biteblock and the Illuminator makes it completely safe in order to perform a handsfree application.
