2 October 2007 Workshop on the use of Lasers in Dentistry

Doctor Jacques Berrebi, renowned French dentist who has been using a CO2 laser for some time in his practice and who was telephoned by EMDOLA (European Master Degree on Oral Laser Applications) in this respect, recently organised a workshop which was eagerly attended. The material support for the workshop, with "the use of lasers in dentistry" as the central theme, was borne by Smartbleach® International (SBI).

The workshop was held in Conlie, France. In co-operation with Prof. Nammour, lecturer at the faculty of Dentistry at the University of Liège, quite a number of interesting demonstrations were given for colleague dentists from the area.

On Thursday, 27 September, everyone gathered in Dr. Berrbi' practice, which had been completely converted for the occasion. The waiting room was used as a mini auditorium. A widescreen showed participants all the operations in the treatment area. One of Prof. Nammour's employees provided commentary on the spot.

The dentists saw demonstrations with a CO2-laser, a Nd:YAG laser and an Erbiumlaser There was also great focus on a KTP laser during 2 bleaching treatments with Smartbleach®. For the purposes of these procedures, simultaneous treatment took place in 2 rooms.

The participants appeared to be extremely enthusiastic about Dr Berrebi’s initiative which is why a repeat performance would be welcome. If there is to be a next time, the organisation may rest assured of Smartbleach® International’s collaboration.
